Vintage Rand McNally Celestial Globe
This stunning vintage 1960s Rand McNally Celestial globe is out-of-this-world amazing! Made by Rand McNally in the early 1960s, this 12-inch globe rotates on a chrome gimbal mount. One of the axes is decorated with the twelve astrological signs of the zodiac. Paper-covered globe features constellations and zodiac signs, clusters, and nebulas in white and sky blue atop a deep inky-blue background. Stunning details and fabulous retro fonts make this hard-to-find globe extra special. A truly gorgeous piece that's sure to be the "star" of your vintage collection!
➝ In very good vintage condition for its age. Globe moves freely on its gimbal mount. No dents or dings to globe itself. One small 'dimple' on the chrome base. Surface of globe shows minor wear, including a couple of small spots where the blue paper has worn, and a small area that has been colored black (shown in last three photos). Chrome base and axes show minor speckling and patina from age. Underside of base is marked 'library'. Overall, a truly stunning and rare piece that displays beautifully!
➝ 16 inches tall
➝ globe itself measures 12 inches in diameter
