Wise Apple Weekly: A Rainy Anniversary Camping Trip

This week's edition of Wise Apple Weekly is a bit different than last week's, as I didn't spend nearly as much time nesting as I usually do. Instead, I was celebrating nine years of wedded bliss with my handsome hubby in Ithaca, NY. We rented a cabin at the Robert H. Treman State Park, and despite the fact that it rained (a LOT) every day we were there, we had a wonderful time. Snapping photos was a little tricky, though, as we were constantly having to duck in and out of the rain, and we spent a lot of time snuggled up in our little cabin. We ate tons of good food, had a couple of (rather soggy) campfires, did plenty of thrifting and antiquing, and even managed to peek at a few waterfalls. And best of all, we managed to find some sun on our drive home. A wonderful little trip from start to finish! So, without further ado, here's a little peek into my week!

Our little cabin for the week, located in Robert H. Treman state park in Ithaca, NY. It wasn't much, but it kept us dry!
This swimming hole was just a stone's throw from our cabin. It certainly wasn't swimming weather, but we loved falling asleep to the sound of the waterfall at night!
We spent tons of time at The Commons, admiring colorful wall murals like this one, ducking in and out of shops, and eating plenty of yummy food.
One of my favorite little vintage shops in Ithaca, The Vintage Industry. I promise I'll show you my finds in next week's recap!
Shops, restaurants, public art, and more at the Ithaca Commons.
I sure was glad to have my trusty rain boots with me! I wore these babies every day!
A rare non-rainy moment at the Cornell College Plantations. Please ignore my out-of-control hair frizzies - thankfully, our cabin didn't have a mirror! Hah!
Our rainy trip ended with a bit of sun - in the form of this gorgeous field of sunflowers we found on our drive home. Proof that it's always more fun to take the back roads!
